Tastings and Tours are an excellent way to indulge in the lovely wonders of handcrafted beverages in Breckenridge. Après is an important activity in any ski town and Breckenridge brings their best to the daily occasion. Various companies around the mountain town have set up awesome opportunities for all to try drinks that are distilled, crafted, or brewed in Breck! While in town, our staff recommends trying these delightful places. It can be a quick stop, or an afternoon well spent.

Here Are Some Places We Recommend For Sipping:

Broken Compass Craft Brewery:

Broken Compass is a brewery that has truly embraced the small, mountain-town atmosphere. Their original brewery located on Airport Rd., at 68 Continental Ct. Unit B-12 is still very lively with locals and tourists alike. They have recently opened another taproom at 520 S. Main St., which has elevated the Broken Compass experience. These lively craft breweries are a joy, with delicious rotating beers, and stellar service. Behind the bar, there is a slew of creative taps to choose from for your beer tasting enjoyment! Broken compass sells flights, beers by the glass, and growlers. I highly recommend their longtime favorite, “Zamba Juice Hazy IPA,” or if you enjoy a brew that is a little bit hoppier, go for the “Colo-Rad-Bro Citra Double IPA.” The brewing room at the Airport Rd. Location is on the smaller side; however, if you book a tour and they can fit you in, you can learn a lot from these brewers! Do not worry about overindulging here! Broken Compass offers a free shuttle for its customers!

Carboy Winery:

Modern vibes of the Carboy Winery collide eloquently with the old town Breckenridge décor. The Carboy Winery prides itself on hand-selecting delicious and high-quality grapes to create over 20 different wines to choose from. The company has also committed to utilizing the system of tap wine, which keeps the wine from aging and assists in better sustainable practices. The tap wine system is super modern and can seem foreign to our wine lovers. However, I think in Breckenridge where recycling glass is already extremely tough it is a great new way to serve the beverage. The company also has wine by the bottle, so the avenues are endless.

Carboy Winery loves to open its doors for tastings and tours!

  • The winery has three different flights to choose from to hit every wine lover’s pallet: a white wine flight, a red wine flight, and a featured wine flight. All are priced at $15.
  • The wines are also sold by the glass, 500ml, and 750ml.
  • They give tours throughout the day, and you can make a private reservation to enhance your tour experience.
  • They have an amazing daily happy hour, and they have Wine Club Memberships where members receive 20% off all Carboy wines.

Breckenridge Distillery:

‘O man has this place grown and developed into an incredible booze creating machine!’ The Breckenridge Distillery has taken their awesome success to produce even better flavors that will zing your taste buds and make you feel alive in Breckenridge! I remember when the company started small, with a landscaping business across the parking lot area! Nevertheless, in just a few years the company expanded tremendously to create the awesome distiller room, bar, and restaurant that it is today! With the enormous expansion, the tour the company gives is something you must go on! The staff is fun and very knowledgeable about their distilling room! This makes the tour exciting and interesting at the same time. The first two samples in the Breckenridge Distillery are free and then it is $1.00 per extra sample. The different tours of the facility and private tasting events vary based on the group size and exclusivity. Click here to check out the various prices and to reserve a time. The restaurant is also incredible, and the signature craft cocktails are worth every sip!

Continental Divide Winery:

This comfortable and warm-hearted winery is an awesome place to check out this season! The Continental Divide Winery is Colorado proud and has developed a very relaxing atmosphere for tasting their wines! The tasting room is in the Main Street Station, so it is an awesome place to enjoy the various notes of the grape in a beautiful part of Breck! To taste their wines, Continental Divide Winery allows walk-ins but has reservations available through opentable.com. This winery has worked its way to winning a slew of different awards including, the Peak of Sustainability Award, Best of Summit Awards, and several competition medals. Also, the company started a Wine Blending night for their customers that want to try creating their own flavors of wine! It is a very fun experience that lasts about two hours and can be set up in groups of 14 or less! The flavors and aromas of these wines are not to be missed!
