Well folks, that “hot girl summer” is creeping towards its final weeks up in Breckenridge. 75 and sunny is about to turn into some cooler days of autumn and possibly some early snow! It is time to really get the most out of these last few weeks of summer in the mountains! Labor Day weekend is a splendid time to get in that end-of-the-season hooray! There is going to be a lot going on around town that you will not want to miss. Here is an overview of some awesome things to do while in Breck this weekend! 46th Great Divide Art Festival
The large, free, and family-friendly Great Divide Art Festival is back in Breckenridge for Labor Day weekend! This outstanding art festival is the longest established art festival in Summit County. Breck will be celebrating the 46th year of this art festival with top artists from across the country. There will be 13 different categories of original artwork ranging from photography, jewelry, sculptures, paintings, drawings, and more.
This year the art festival will take place at the Colorado Mountain College parking lot. The college is located about 5 minutes north of downtown Breckenridge. However, there will be free parking, free public bus service, and plenty of space to walk around without any crowd build-up.
We highly recommend taking a walk down by the Blue River after checking out the art festival. The college sits next to one of the best parts of the river and it is worth taking a few minutes to soak it in.

THE RUBBER DUCK RACE
The ‘soul of the summit’ is The Summit Foundation’s embedded slogan for good reason. This amazing foundation has been one of the largest supporters for all of Summit County by helping to address unyielding community needs. They have hosted the great Rubber Duck Race through Breckenridge for over three decades to raise money towards their leadership efforts in community outreach. This event is always filled with lively energy, good vibes, prizes, creativity, and of course, A LOT of rubber ducks.
Head on down to the Blue River Plaza in the center of downtown Breckenridge on Saturday for all the fun! There will be hundreds of prizes and a grand prize of $1,500! Starting at 1 pm the kid’s duck race will kick off the day! Each duck is $10, and the race is open to all kids 12 years and younger. Directly after the kid’s race, the horn will sound at 2 pm for the Business Race. Each business that enters this race will purchase a duck for $100 and the winner will receive a big prize! To round out the competition, the biggest race of the day will start at 3 pm. To enter this thrilling rubber, race the duck costs $5, but if your duck wins, the grand prize is $1,500! Overall, it is a great time for a great cause!

SUP Yoga Classes
Paddle Board Yoga, also known as SUP Yoga, is a great way to wake up the body, breathe in the fresh mountain air, try something different, and experience local studios. Both Bhava and Meta yoga studios are offering SUP Yoga classes over Labor Day weekend, and they are worth signing up for.

Visit the fun park
Labor Day weekend is one of the last weekends to have a blast up at the Peak 8, Breckenridge Fun Park! Send it on the alpine slide, glide down the alpine coaster, soar on the zip line, compete with your friends through the putt-putt course, and much more. Get your heart rate up with all the joys of the fun park! The convenience of taking the gondola from town is great for a day of excitement! Get a front-seat view of the gorgeous mountain top at one of the restaurants or bars. While you are up there walk on the mountain path over to the start of the Peaks Trail! It is an excellent walk for the entire family.
MAKE A SPLASH AT THE POOL
Many of our guests gain full access to either the Upper Village Pool or Columbine Pool during their stay in Breckenridge. These pools are outside, so heading over there on a bluebird sky day is excellent for anyone in the group. The Upper Village Pool also has an indoor section, an indoor hot tub, and two outdoor hot tubs. The Columbine Pool has 4 outdoor hot tubs that are large and perfect for full relaxation.
Give yourself a few days to completely unwind, indulge in fun activities, and reward yourself for the hard work you put in every day. Breckenridge is a perfect place to cheers for the good times created this summer! Come join us!
