I love the days when it shines, whoa let it shine” These lyrics by Atmosphere are how most people feel when they find an awesome patio to chill at in Breckenridge on a bluebird sky day. With this mountain town getting over 300 days of sunshine, the locals and tourists are spoiled with beaming rays! Almost all the locals in town will tell you that they love to get outside as much as possible during the summer to grasp every bit of warm weather we are granted! There is so much to do, but an absolute favorite is finding an outdoor patio to kick back and relax on. Breckenridge has excellent outdoor patios to choose from where delicious craft beers, cocktails, good eats, and good vibes can be consumed.

The Canteen Tap House and Tavern
The Canteen patio is popping with excitement! The tables are close, but it allows for a high-energy atmosphere of meeting people and mingling with the other tables! Right across from the gondola, this patio has an incredible view of the Breckenridge Resort and grants customers with the late day sun! Cheers with a large canteen in hand, filled with handcrafted cocktails! Our favorite Canteen cocktails that immediately put us in the summer mood are the Canteen Ahhh Rita and The Big Ladrewski! The food is also spectacular! Try out the very cheesy mac n’ cheese, any of the uniquely crafted burgers, or a sammie!
Mi Casa
Mi Casa has been a favorite in town for a very long time and for good reason! Delectable Mexican food, awesome service, tasty margaritas, and riverfront views! Relax on the deck and enjoy the sound of the river! Our favorite Marg to enjoy at Mi Casa is their Special Margarita. This Special Margarita is similar to a Skinny Margarita, filled with tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice and sweetened with a little agave nectar. The queso, burritos, and enchiladas are our top picks on the food menu.
Ollie’s Pub and Grub
Ollie’s Pub has taken over the Dredge in Breckenridge! The dredge boat is a giant vessel that sits in the water of The Blue River. This pub has multiple patios, outstanding views, and the perfect summer energy. Feel like you might be missing out on a ball game while sitting on an outdoor patio? Not to worry. From most tables on the patio, Ollie’s Pub has huge windows where you can watch the score of the baseball game while soaking up the sun. Some delicious bites include the Fired Pickle Burger and the loaded BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos. And don’t you worry, the beer list is extensive!
Twist
Twist is a wonderful restaurant located off Main St. on Ridge St. The cute outdoor patio has matured trees, wonderful views of the mountain, and quaint vibes. The mountain modern, uniquely flavored cuisine is divine. The happy hour is 7 days a week from 4-6 pm and is excellent! The happy hour offers $5 off all apps, $3 off all sides, and huge discounts on beer, wine, and craft cocktails. We have liked all of the dinner items we have ordered, but if we had to pick some favs, they would be the Tenderloin smothered in their blackberry sage demi glaze, or the chicken-n-waffles. Also, test out their Smokey Old-Fashioned, you won’t be disappointed.
Rocky Mountain Underground (RMU)
Want to play cornhole, listen to live tunes, and enjoy awesome drinks? RMU this summer is the place to be for a sweet patio experience! They have a smaller patio in the front that sits directly on Main Street. The people-watching is on-point, and the energy is high. Around the back of RMU, the bar has an entire space with turf for games, sitting areas, a tiki bar, and a raised live music stage.
Rootstalk
Rootstalk is new on the block! Located on North Main St., this new gem is delicious and has a cute front patio to enjoy the summer evenings! Rootstalk opens at 4 pm daily, so it is a perfect place for a sunset dinner. Indulge in a charcuterie board, alongside one of their outstanding cocktails. One of our favorite choices for dinner has been the Roasted Duck Breast, but with a rotating menu, things are ever-changing. This chef’s creativity will not disappoint.
Hearthstone
Hearthstone has an intimate deck to enjoy scrumptious higher-end meals, with a stunning view that just skims over the buildings of Main Street. Before the summer, Hearthstone worked hard to reconstruct their patio and now it is back open for seating! They have a happy hour menu that has great deals. A few items that we think are great to indulge in during the summer months are the Crispy Colorado Goat Cheese and a Summit Daiquiri!
Kenosha
Kenosha has one of the bigger decks in Breckenridge, which can make it easier to sit at large parties! The deck is in a position for optimal sunshine and full mountain views! On this deck, you can also enjoy cornhole and other fun games in between bites! This is an awesome deck for a group, especially with the large punch bowl cocktails on the menu! The eats that we recommend include, the Watermelon Salad, The Smoked Sausage Plate, or the Sriracha Wrap with Turkey.
Blue River Bistro
Blue River Bistro has a splendid little side patio that is great for enjoying a relaxed ambiance and a mountain chic vibe. Blue River Bistro is an upscale restaurant located on the north end of Main St. It is directly across from our office, so we are experts in saying that it is a great place to sit outside and enjoy awesome food with a martini. The cuisine has various, delicious items to choose from that will tickle your tastebuds. Also, the happy hour is one-of-a-kind in Breckenridge, with 2-for-1 martinis as well as discounts on wine, beer, and apps!
Robbie’s Tavern
If you are up at the Peak 8 fun park this summer or you just want to spend time at the top of the gondola, Robbie’s has one superb deck! This is a wonderful place to enjoy bluebird skies, awesome people, and a delicious Bloody Mary! This deck has a great family-friendly feel and is great for an afternoon bite! Try their warm Pretzel Knots, Mozzarella Sticks, or The Bergie.
